Vitamin K Controversy

We are in the process of editing our vitamin K handouts in response to the recent controversy
surrounding vitamin K.   We are still in the investigation of the research at this time.  So, please look in the future for there to be more
information about this issue.   Please feel free to send us questions.

If your baby did not get the injection of vitamin k at birth,  we are at this time, suggesting your baby be given 1 mg of vitamin K oral supplement once a week until they reach 3 months of life.

Please see the links below about vitamin K:

  1. In the local, recent news,
  2. Research in reference to Late onset VKBD (vitamin K bleeding deficiency) and oral dosages,
  3. If you plan to supplement the oral supplement we recommend.  With this supplement 1mg equals 2 drops.
