Maggie Leo RN

Maggie has been a Registered Nurse for six years serving in adult Medical/Surgical setting. When attending the home birth of a close friend in 2003, in her heart, a fire for birth was sparked. This experience caused her to begin reading books and educating herself on Midwifery as well as attending as many births as possible. After going through her OB rotation and finishing nursing school in 2008 her passion towards mamas and babies continued to burn more brightly. Upon graduation from Nursing School, Maggie had the opportunity to work for Children’s Hospital in Washington DC before moving to Denver, CO where she continued nursing in Adult Bariatric and Telemetry. In 2011 she moved home to Nashville. Shortly after returning Maggie had her first child; a home water birth. Having her own child in a home setting solidified that a Career in Midwifery and Women’s Health was her life’s passion. Maggie continued working in nursing on an Orthopedic Unit until she had the opportunity to join the Tender Beginnings team as an Office and Birth Assistant.
Under the instruction and wisdom of Mary Anne, Maggie is looking forward to learning from the wealth of knowledge found in such a practiced Midwife. Her goal is to one day hold her CPM (Certified Professional Midwife).
